SIKESTON -- Roosevelt "Oozie" Jones, 39, of Chicago, formerly of Sikeston, died at 6:33 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 1993, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 29, 1953, in Sikeston, son of David and Lillian Young Jones. His parents, of Sikeston, survive.
He was a graduate of Sikeston High School. He had lived in Illinois for more than 10 years, and was employed in construction.
Other survivors are brothers, Franklin Jones, Chicago, Willie Jones, Michigan City, Ind., and Charles and Jerry Jones, both of Sikeston.
Friends may call at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
Service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with the Rev. Flim E. Bronner Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
