GORDONVILLE -- Ronnie Medlock, 56, of Gordonville died Friday, June 11, 1999, at the Missouri Veterans Home at Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 4, 1942, at Delta, son of R.B. and Pearl Hodge Medlock. He and Shirley Nussbaum were married July 22, 1960.
He was a horse trainer all his life. Medlock was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, American Cutting Horse Association and director of the Florida and Arkansas Quarter Horse Association. He helped form the "Orange Blossom" Appaloosa Horse Association headquartered in Tampa, Fla. He had traveled and trained quarter horses in England, Germany, Japan, Brazil, Belgium, South America, Argentina and Columbia. He also started team penning in Arkansas.
Survivors include two sons, Greg and Randy Medlock, both of Guy, Ark.; a daughter, Lisa Cliffton of Cary, N.C.; a brother, Burl Medlock of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Earlene Curry of Delta; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home at Jackson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bob Medlock officiating. Burial will follow at the New Bethel Cemetery near Pocahontas.
