Ronald Edward Parker, 80, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Leopold, Missouri, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at his home
Born Nov. 7, 1938, in Fornfelt, he was the son of Verlon E. and Alberta Wright Parker. He and Norma Jean Beussink were married Nov. 15, 1958. She survives.
He worked in marketing and sales for various companies. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of the Marine Corps League Cpl. Mason O Yarbrough Detachment 1081.
Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Gregory (Cinda) Parker of Maitland, Florida, Stephen Parker of Wilmington, North Carolina, Ronald Parker of Cape Girardeau and Mark (Jennifer) Parker of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Lynn (Harry) Davis of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; a brother, Verlon D. Parker; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Revs. William Hennecke and David Coon officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Hutchings Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
