Ronald E. Owens, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, son of Cecil E. and Venita Wright Owens. He and Jeannine Willis were married May 27, 1961, at Cape Girardeau.
Owens was a 1957 Cape Central High School graduate. He was employed by Leming Lumber Co. and later employed by Cotton Belt Railroad as a conductor for 37 years. Owens was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3775.
Survivors include his wife of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Rhonda J. Sitz and husband Jerry of Jackson, Dana L. Kondrad and late husband Jeff of Manchester, Mo., Tracy A. Butler and husband Robert of McKinney, Texas; two brothers, Dick E. Owens and wife Marsha of Jackson, David C. Owens and wife Sherri of Ballwin, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Erin Sitz, Marissa Sitz, Jared Sitz, Kory Kondrad, Kelsey Kondrad, Austin Butler, Reagan Butler; 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Kiefer officiating.
Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.
