SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ronald "Ron" Newcomb, 54, of Sikeston, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Wednesday, May 31, 2006, at his home.

He was born Aug. 31, 1951, in Cairo, Ill., son of Clarence Halton and Mary Lou Newcomb. He and Diane Rolwing were married Oct. 26, 1974.

Newcomb lived in Chicago from 1957 until moving to Charleston in the 1960s. He was a 1969 graduate of Charleston High School. He worked for Mississippi County Bowling Lanes, Meyer Supply Co., and retired in 2005 from Missouri Department of Revenue.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald Newcomb of Seattle, Wash., Kevin Newcomb of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, Mary Lou Bruenderman of Charleston; two brothers, Danny Newcomb of Cape Girardeau, Chris Newcomb of Charleston; two sisters, Donna Dwyer of Tinley Park, Ill., and Karen Pullen of Charleston.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. A prayer service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston, with Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery near Charleston.
