JACKSON -- Ronald Albert Lowes, 53, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 29, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert H. and Juanita E. Fowler Lowes. He and Marilyn Kay Gerlach were married June 1, 1968, in Cape Girardeau.

Lowes was a 1961 graduate of Jackson High School, and 1965 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University.

He taught at Oak Ridge High School in 1970-71; was a teacher, football coach, and athletic director at St. Vincent's High School in Perryville from 1971-73; was a juvenile officer with the 32nd Judicial Circuit; had been business manager at Wieser Honda and Brennecke Chevrolet; and worked 15 years at Blair Industries in Scott City and as district sales manager with N.P.S. He retired in June 1995.

Lowes served 13 months in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps, and was combat photographer for the 1st and 3rd Divisions.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Marine Corps Association, American Legion Post 158, and VFW Post 10495. He was a former member of Cape Jaycees and Cape Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Tracy Myer of Fayetteville, N.C., Jill and Holly Lowes of Jackson; and his mother of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion service will be held at 7.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating.
