WYATT -- Ronald Eugene Garner of Wyatt died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1997, at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Ill. He was 57.

He was born Aug. 22, 1940, at East Prairie, son of Clarence James and Myrtle Zuck Garner. His mother survives.

He was employed as a riverboat crewman and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was Pentecostal.

He is survived by two sons, James Garner of Wyatt and Bernell Garner of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Ed Garner of Marion, Ill., David Garner of Herrin, Ill., Jim Garner of Steele and Glen Garner of Sharples, W.Va.; and a sister, Jean Coleman of North Ridgeville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. LeRoy Thornton officiating.

Burial will follow at the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
