Romona J. Shock, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Jonesboro, Ill., daughter of Jessie Mae Hill Cora. She and Lester Ates were married in July 1947. He died Dec. 2, 1968.
Shock worked 25 years at Children's Bazaar, retiring in 2001. She then worked part time at Carol's Hallmark.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Ates of Egypt Mills, Mo., Steven Ates Sr. of Park Hills, Mo.; two daughters, Diane Mouser and Shirley Ates of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
