Roma Nell Cantrell, 86, of Jackson passed away peacefully Monday, June 24, 2019, at her home.
She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Brookland, Arkansas, daughter of Jim and Dollie Norris Hoskins. She and James David Cantrell were married Feb. 13, 1952. He passed away Oct. 8, 2018, in Jackson.
Roma enjoyed spending time with her family. They were everything to her. She also enjoyed worshiping God and being with her church family as well. One of Roma's favorite pastimes was perusing yard sales.
Loving survivors include four children, Karen (Mike) Morgan of Jonesboro, Illinois, Bonnie (Kevin) Wooden of East Alton, Illinois, Kenneth (Ginny) Cantrell of West Africa and John (Becky) Cantrell of Columbia, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two siblings Bill (Alice) Hoskins of Boise, Idaho, and Geraldine (Ben) Whitaker of Paragould, Arkansas.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, five brothers and an infant granddaughter, Jessica Cantrell.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with her son, Kenneth Cantrell, officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor's church or charity of choice.
