Roger Thomas Rebert, 92, of Carthage, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in Carthage. Roger Thomas Rebert, 92, of Carthage, Texas, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, in Carthage.

He was born March 29, 1923, in Springfield, Ohio, the third of four children born to Roger Henry and Bertha Esther Laybourne Rebert. He was raised and schooled in Lisbon, Ohio, later graduating high school in Plattsburg, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University.

Rebert served his country in the U.S. Army as a sergeant during World War II.

He married Anna Lou Craig on July 29, 1942, and they celebrated 72 years of marriage and raised three children in a loving home.

Rebert spent his career as a sales representative of agricultural products, retiring from Aerovent Fan Co. of Lansing, Michigan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Rebert of Carthage; two daughters, Connie (David) Bush of Carthage and Sylvia Rebert of Jackson; a son, Thomas (Janis) Rebert of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Donald Rebert of St. Louis; grandchildren, Cody Bush of Carthage, Staci (Dane) Baker of Cape Girardeau and Dustin (Kristina) LeGrand of Jackson; grandson-in-law, Brad Peterson of Carthage; great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Aubrey Baker and Alyssa LeGrand; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Jackie Bush Peterson and James Shannon; a brother, Edward Rebert; and a sister, Doris Heck.

Funeral services were Saturday at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage, with the Rev. Freddy Mason officiating. Burial followed in Six Mile Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were David Bush, Cody Bush, Dustin LeGrand, Brad Peterson, Mike Marshall and Grady Wedgeworth.

Memorials may be made to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
