Roger Dodson

THEBES, Ill. -- Roger Lee Dodson, 55, of Thebes passed away at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017, at his daughter's home in Chester, Illinois.

Roger was born Oct. 29, 1961, in Rock Falls, Illinois, son of Raymond Earl and Noma (Sanders) Dodson.

Roger attended the First Free Will Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Illinois.

He was a welder and former truck driver.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Dodson Sr. in 2008 and Michael R. Dodson in 2010, and his father, Raymond Dodson, on Feb. 13.

Survivors include his mother, Noma Dodson of Thebes; three daughters, Tory (Duane) Hamlin of Chester and Angela Dodson and Laura Dodson, both of Thebes; two brothers, Frank Dodson and Monty (Carla) Dodson, both of Thebes; a sister-in-law, Sheila Dodson of Thebes; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Curt Alderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the funeral home to help assist the family with expenses.
