FRUITLAND, Mo. -- Rodney Sides, 54, of Fruitland died Monday, June 26, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 6, 1945, at Fruitland, son of Cecil and Leona Walker Sides. He and Sharon Tripp were married July 23, 1965. Sides was a heavy equipment operator with Penzel Construction Co. Inc. FRUITLAND, Mo. -- Rodney Sides, 54, of Fruitland died Monday, June 26, 2000, at his home.

He was born Oct. 6, 1945, at Fruitland, son of Cecil and Leona Walker Sides. He and Sharon Tripp were married July 23, 1965.

Sides was a heavy equipment operator with Penzel Construction Co. Inc. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Operating Engineers Local 513 in Cape Girardeau, and Jackson Elks Lodge 2652.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Christine Fadler of Jackson, Kimberly Steiger of Kansas City; his mother of Jackson; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, and a brother.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today. An Elks service will be held at 7.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Newell officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
