Robin Lynn Pensel, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, March 22, 2022. at his home.
He was born August 22, 1955, in Cape Girardeau to Ralph Albert and Opal Duschell Pensel. He and Deborah Bening were married July 16, 1983, in Cape Girardeau.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Communication Technology from Southeast Missouri State University.
He was a maintenance electrician for 36 years. He worked at Lone Star Cement for 10 years, then Newell Rubbermaid for 26 years, retiring in 2014.
Rob loved playing bluegrass music, especially the banjo he built himself. Rob loved sports in high school and slow pitch softball as an adult. He especially loved his time as the big guy in the red suit the last few years. He loved riding his scooter on the trails with his dog, Maggie. He also enjoyed going to the HealthPoint therapy pool to gossip with the ladies.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Lynn Pensel of Cape Girardeau; son, Joshua (Mackenzie) Pensel of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Ronald (Janet) Pensel of Battleground, Washington and Timothy (Mary) Pensel of Cape Girardeau; two brothers-in-law, Joe (Shelly) Bening of Cape Girardeau and John Bening of Sanibel, Florida; a sister-in-law, Tammy Bening of Jackson; three nieces, Erika Bening of Jackson, Kristine (Wes) Grabel of Cape Girardeau and Jill Mosebach of Austin, Texas; three nephews, Tyler Bening of Cape Girardeau, Jacob Bening of Cape Girardeau and Blake Bening of Fort Myers, Florida; two great-nieces, Zea Grabel of Cape Girardeau and Raylee Bening of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Pensel; mother, Opal Pensel Duncan; and father-in-law, Wayne William Bening.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
