Roberta Southard

The funeral for Roberta Helen Southard of Jackson will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Woelk will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Southard, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 17, 1924, at Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of Herman and Myrtle Gross. She and Herman Southard were married May 6, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. He died April 17, 1977.

Southard lived in Cape Girardeau and Jackson most of her life. She worked 10 years at Southeast Missouri Hospital, and several years at Cape LaCroix Nursing Home.

Survivors include a son, Raymond Southard of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Helen Seabaugh of Jackson, Cathy Davis of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
