MCCLURE, Ill. -- Roberta Coleman, 85, of Elco, died Monday, Oct. 21, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 23, 1906, at McClure, daughter of Thomas and Annie Sorrels Cantrell. She married Miles Coleman May 5, 1926. He died March 9, 1962.
Coleman taught school many years in Alexander County, and retired from the dietary department at Anna Mental Health Center. She was a member of Elco Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, D.M. Coleman of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Salle Townsend of Louisville, Ky., Judith Coleman of Elco; a sister, Alma Cantrell of St. Louis, and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Coleman.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crain Funeral Chapel in Tamms. The Revs. Tom Bailey and Robert Cantrell will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Thursday.
