Roberta Wiseman Brown, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, June 28, 2021, at her home.

She was born Jan. 11, 1948, in Frasier, Tennessee, to John Lee and Lillie Mae Lewis Wiseman. She and Henry Brown Jr. were married Feb. 14, 1975, in Cape Girardeau.

She was a seamstress at Tipton Cleaners for more than 30 years.

She loved being outside, watching NBA basketball, going to see Lee Williams in concert with her sister, sewing and visiting people in the nursing home.

Roberta was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the church choir and the gospel group Gospelett's. She was also a member of Rock of Ages Chapter No. 5 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She lived a beautiful Christian life and was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Brown of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Dorothy Wiseman Lawrence and Velma Wiseman, both of Cape Girardeau, and Verna Bogard Wiseman of Decatur, Illinois; son, Floyd Gene (Debra) Wiseman of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Chester (Cora) Wiseman of Holly Springs, Mississippi, and Willie Wiseman of Tampa, Florida; sister, Rosetta Craine of Champaign, Illinois; 19 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two special friends, Sister Earlene Thomas and Robert Ellis.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Lewis, Vertis Wiseman, James Wiseman, Cassell Wiseman and Charlie Wiseman; sisters, Bertha Knoxx, Ophelia Brown, Clemmie Martin, Ida Wiseman, Mary Lee Wiseman and Minnie Pratt; and grandchildren, Oscar Wren and Zaelynn Wiseman.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will follow at 4 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Joseph G. Cotton Jr. officiating. Burial will be Sunday at Cottrell Memorial Garden Cemetery in Holly Springs.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
