ANNA, Ill. -- Robert E. Williams, 68, of Anna died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
He was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Cobden, Ill., son of Marion E. "Dutch" and Bertha Watkins Williams. He and Patricia F. Manninger were married Nov. 9, 1954, in Cobden.
Williams was a retired licensed water and sewer operator for the village of Cobden, and was a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cobden.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Williams of St. Charles, Mo.; his mother, Bertha Rinehart of Anna; two stepsisters, Marcia Lacy of Conway, Ark., and Alice Spaulding of Louisville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.
Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Clifford Heil will officiate. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
