SCOTT CITY - Robert W. Wadlington, 82, of Scott City, Mo., died Friday, July 2, 1999, at his home.

He was born on December 30, 1916 at Blodgett, son of Robert Daniel and Laura Adell Dean Wadlington. He married Hazel Bollinger on July 1, 1938 at Fornfelt, Mo.

Mr. Wadlington had been a conductor for the Cotton Belt Railroad for 36 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scott City; Cryptic Mason, Cape Council No. 20; H.O. Grauel Masonic Lodge #672; Knight Templar, Cape Girardeau Commandery No. 55; Royal Arch Mason, Wilson Chapter No. 75 and the United Transportation Union.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in law, Robert Pete and Diana Wadlington of Scott City; five grandchildren, Tim Bain of Advance, Jill Spriggs of Kelso, Nicole Wadlington of St. Louis, Christi Shaw of Scott City and Shana Wadlington of Scott City; two step-grandchildren, Todd Shaw of Scott City and Stephanie Anderson of Sikeston; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Austin Spriggs of Kelso; one step great granddaughter, Tayler Shaw of Jackson; one brother, Fred Wadlington of Scott City; and one sister, Elva Sander of Fairview Heights, Ill.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Donna Kay; one daughter, Shirley Wadlington Shaw; four brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City on Saturday, July 3, 1999, after 5:00 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City on Sunday, July 4, 1999, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Terry Eades will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
