Robert C. Vaughan, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home

He was born Feb. 18, 1919, in Ashtabula, Ohio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steir Vaughan. He and Mary Butler were married May 6, 1984, in Nevada City, Calif.

Vaughan retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force, having served in World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James Vaughan of Tulsa, Okla., Robert Vaughan of California; four daughters, Sue Sanders, Kathy Vaughan, Cindy Shoemaker and Mary Ann Spence, all of California; a brother, Eugene Vaughan of Sandusky, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in California.

Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
