CHAFFEE -- Robert Ual Lair Sr., 74, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at his home. He was born March 22, 1922, in Eminence, the son of Edgar and Lula May Baker Lair. He married Viola Poole on Aug. 28, 1948. Lair retired in 1984 as a rock crusher for Lone Star Cement and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. CHAFFEE -- Robert Ual Lair Sr., 74, of Chaffee died Saturday, May 4, 1996, at his home.

He was born March 22, 1922, in Eminence, the son of Edgar and Lula May Baker Lair. He married Viola Poole on Aug. 28, 1948.

Lair retired in 1984 as a rock crusher for Lone Star Cement and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Cape Girardeau Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Scott City.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Ual Lair Jr. of Chaffee; three daughters, Brenda Lair and Crystal Gramlisch, both of Chaffee, and Lawanna Seabaugh of Leopold; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with Bill Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
