SIKESTON -- Robert David Tankersley, 60, of Sikeston died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at his home.

He was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Charlotte, N.C., son of William Emmett and Corra Lee Thomas Tankersley Sr.

Tankersley was an engineer with American Commercial Barge Lines. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include three daughters, Renee, Lisa and Angela; three brothers, William Tankersley Jr. of Ocean Isle, N.C., John Tankersley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Clyde Tankersley of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Mary Tankersley of San Antonio, Texas, Betty Henderson of Shelby, N.C., Debra Virchall of Charlotte; a companion, Betty Wood of Sikeston; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
