ANNA, Ill. -- Robert W. Sweitzer, 88, of Anna died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at City Care Center. He was born March 2, 1911, at Cobden, son of John and Sophia Vitt Sweitzer. ANNA, Ill. -- Robert W. Sweitzer, 88, of Anna died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at City Care Center.

He was born March 2, 1911, at Cobden, son of John and Sophia Vitt Sweitzer. He and Bemis Fuller were married April 21, 1934, in Belleville.

Sweitzer was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jeanette Talley of Kingman, Ariz., Deloris Woodard of Wake Village, Texas; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Federico Higuera officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
