SCOTT CITY -- Funeral for Robert N. Smith of Scott City will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. The Rev. John Rice will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Smith, 66, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 14, 1933, in Jackson, son of George and Nellie Schreiner Smith. He and Mona L. Dougan were married Sept. 15, 1962, in Cape Girardeau.
Smith worked many years with Sheetmetal Workers Local 36, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and its Methodist Men; former member of Scott City PTO, Scott City Lions Club, former member and president of Scott City Band Boosters. He was affiliated with the Girl Scouts organization many years.
Smith served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, LaDonna Pratt of Scott City; five brothers, Dean Smith of Chaffee, Charles Smith of Scott City, George and Dale Smith of Jackson, Mark Smith of Troy; three sisters, Laura Smith of Belleville, Ill., Jean Shepherd of Cape Girardeau, Kim Martin of Jackson; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
