Robert "Bob" Warren Roeger, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at his residence in Cape Girardeau after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on March 26, 1956, in Ann Arbor, Mich., the son of Warren and Beverly Bradford Roeger.

He and Cheryl Rogers Hendricks were married on Nov. 27, 2004, in Scott City.

Bob spent one of his last days enjoying his time with family and experiencing a great moment from his past. Together, they watched a recording of his alma mater, Indiana University, defeat the University of Michigan in the 1976 NCAA basketball championship, a game won during Bob's freshman year at Indiana University. It was a joyful afternoon of family and celebration, for Bob's life and some of his favorite sports victories.

Bob graduated from Indiana University in 1978. He worked at Procter & Gamble for 24 years as systems analyst manager until his retirement in 2002. After retiring, Bob decided to spend his time doing what he loved best, working with people and enjoying himself at Howard's Athletic Goods, doing everything anything they needed. He always said his philosophy in life was to take every day as your last and live each and every day to its fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Roeger, of Cape Girardeau; his parents of Sun City, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Emily Hendricks of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Benjamin Warren Roeger of Indianapolis, Ind., Edward Allen Roeger of Columbia, Mo., and Tyler Robert Roeger of Champaign, Ill.; former wife, Libby Roeger, of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Patricia Schettino of Germantown, Md.; mother-in-law, Rutha Sue Rogers of Cape Girardeau; former mother-in-law, Jean Bradford of Indianapolis; former brothers-in-law, James Bradford and Cale Bradford, both of Indianapolis.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home on Tuesday, Dec. 26, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
