ROBERT ROBERTS

WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Robert Raymond Roberts, 81, of Wappapello died Friday, July 7, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Essex, son of William Printy and Letha Mofield Roberts. He and Ina Causbie were married Dec. 15, 1945, at Dexter.

Formerly of Dexter, Roberts had lived at Wappapello the past 28 years. He was a member of Lakeland Assembly of God Church at Wappapello and a life member of VFW Post 7822 in Puxico.

He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Sonny Roberts of Godfrey, Ill.; two daughters, Linda Downs of Wappapello, Carol Hutchinson of Madison, Fla.; three brothers, Marvin Roberts of Dexter, W.T. Roberts of Arnold, Doyle Roberts of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth McBride of Dexter, Fleecie Boone of Mount Morris, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joel Zarro officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery at Dexter.
