Robert "Bro. Bob" Poe, 76, of Burfordville died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Cape Girardeau to Everett and Eula Scott Poe. He and Aline Newell were married June 28, 1963, in Millersville. During their wonderful 56 years together, they enjoyed spending time with their loving family and friends, and traveling.
Bro. Bob was a founding member of Greater Vision Pentecostal Church in Chaffee, Missouri, serving as pastor from 1998 to 2020. Together, he and Aline enjoyed their ministerial responsibilities and spending time with their church family. Prior to Bob's pastorate, he worked in the bus ministry, youth ministry, church outreach programs, taught young adults and youth Sunday school classes and served 10 years on the church board.
Prior to retirement, Bob was a member of Local 665 Plumbers & Fitters Union in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and worked for Goggin Excavating Co. Cape Girardeau.
He enjoyed working in his yard and his garage, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Zach, and Zach's daughter, Eliza, who lovingly called him Papaw.
Loving survivors include his wife, Aline Poe of Burfordville; three children, Robert L. Poe of Orlando, Florida, Pamela (Kenny) Koehler of Jackson and Penny (Mark) Dowd of Glen Allen, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tasha Ferrell, Kent Dowd and Zachary (Courtney) Thrower; three sisters, Glenda Potter of Mount Vernon, Indiana, Sue Wallman of Pocahontas and Frances (Gary) Beal of Marble Hill, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, and another expected in May.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Everett Poe Jr.; and four sisters, Josita Poe, Jovada Odom, Mabel Brannam and Maxine Elders.

Due to current health concerns, the family will privately honor Bob with a graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cook Cemetery in Scopus, Missouri, with the Rev. Gene Warren officiating.
Cemetery arrangements should be delivered to the graveside prior to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Gifts may be delivered to the east flower door of the funeral home between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.
