Robert Minton

Robert C. "Bob" Minton, 81, of Katy, Texas, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, May 31, 2013, at Methodist West Hospital in Katy.

He was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, to Robert D. and Willia Slinkard Minton.

Bob was a 1950 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and a 1958 graduate of Missouri School of Mines.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his mother, Willia Minton of Katy; wife, Verda Farrar Minton; three children, Ginger (David) Ellis of Katy, Robert D. Minton of Kiln, Miss., and Shari Minton of West Hollywood, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Katie and Stephanie Ellis and Whitney Frasier.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James Minton.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park with full military rites.
