Robert McLain

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Robert E. McLain, 77, of Perryville died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at Independence Care Center of Perry County in Perryville.

He was born June 25, 1939, in Silver Lake, Missouri, son of Paul Joseph and Mary Corrine (Jannin) McLain.

He had been a farmer, also working 9 1/2 years at International Shoe Factory and 14 years at K of C Bowling Center. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include four sisters, Mary L. McLain of Perryville; Rita Duvall of Collinsville, Illinois; and Rose (Lawrence) Geile and Anna Cissell, all of Perryville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph McLain; one infant brother; and one infant sister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake.

Funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post 133 and Missouri Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
