CAIRO, Ill. -- Robert M. Shelton, 64, of Berkeley, Mo., formerly of Cairo, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at his home.
He was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Cairo, the son of Walter and Myrtle Comer Shelton.
Shelton was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a retired painter.
Survivors are two sisters, Violet Bledsoe of Wickliffe, Ky., and Lena Needham of Berkeley; and two brothers, Edward Shelton of San Diego, Calif., and Joe Shelton of Tacoma, Wash.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating.
