PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Robert A. "Bob" Lukefahr, 88, of Perryville died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 13, 1921, in St. Louis, son of the late Harry and Edna Lukefahr Lukefahr. He and Mary Vessells were married Dec. 25, 1941. She preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1983...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Robert A. "Bob" Lukefahr, 88, of Perryville died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 13, 1921, in St. Louis, son of the late Harry and Edna Lukefahr Lukefahr. He and Mary Vessells were married Dec. 25, 1941. She preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1983.

Mr. Lukefahr had been a fertilizer technician with U.S. Steel Co., and also farmed. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4282 and American Legion Post 133.

He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Judith DeClue of Jackson, Sharon Rogers of Marble Hill, Mo.; three sons, Harry (Jean) Lukefahr of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., William Lukefahr and Jeffery (Patricia) Lukefahr of St. Mary, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by VFW and Delta Team.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association.
