He was born June 23, 1956, in Cape Girardeau to Jack F. and Ruby Anna Rice Lance.
He was a riverboat captain and was a member of Camaro Club in Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by a son, Daniel (Kacey) Lance of Scott City and children, Blakeley Rae and Bostyn Jade Lance; a daughter, Robin (Lawrence) Clayton of San Antonio and son, Mars Clayton; and companion, Kathy Spies of Scott City and her daughter, Krista Spies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Hagan.
There will be no services.
