Robert Kahtz

Robert L. Kahtz, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at his home.

He was born June 25, 1924, in Edwardsville, Ill., son of August H. and Martha Metzger Kahtz. He married Joyce Irvin on Aug. 28, 1946, in Edwardsville. She died April 15, 1999.

He was a retired salesman for Associated Building Center. He also worked for the Tallman Co. in St. Louis.

He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.

He was a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by a son, Brad Kahtz of Franklin, Tenn; a daughter, Karen Goins of Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Brendan Dempsey and Hugh V. Stewart officiating.

A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Burial will be at Sunset Hills.
