JONESBORO, Ill. -- Robert Lee "John" Johnson Sr., 56, of Jonesboro, Ill. died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, at his home. JONESBORO, Ill. -- Robert Lee "John" Johnson Sr., 56, of Jonesboro, Ill. died Friday, Aug. 8, 1997, at his home.

He was born June 9, 1941, in Miller City, Ill., to Marshall Allen and Mable Irene Dover Johnson.

Johnson was a carpenter and a member of the Labor Local 773 in Cairo. He was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church in Woodridge, Ill. He was a veteran.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Johnson Jr. and Casey Steven Johnson both of Jonesboro; a grandson; and four brothers, Ed Johnson of O'Fallon, Jack and Russell Johnson of Jonesboro and Phillip Johnson of Lacenter, Ky.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m., today, at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Hileman and Parr Chapel with the Rev. Curt Alderson officiating. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery with military rites conducted at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 Anna VFW.
