Robert Leon Isaacs Jr., 71, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at his home in North Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born Dec. 7, 1941, in Sikeston, Mo., to Robert Leon and Willie Belle Williams Isaacs Sr.

Robert was a 1959 graduate of Central High School in Cape Girardeau. While attending Southeast Missouri State University, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, serving as president in 1965. He graduated from Southeast in 1966 with a bachelor of science in business administration.

He served six years in the U.S. Army National Guard and was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant infantry.

His career in management included employment at Allstate Insurance Co. in Kansas City, Mo., from 1966 to 1971; Southeast Missouri Lumber Co. in Cape Girardeau from 1974 to 1976; Jim Wilson Co. in Cape Girardeau from 1976 to 1987, where he also served on the board of directors. From 1988 to 1995 he owned and operated Printers Alley, a small commercial printing company in Fort Myers. He was a member of Elks Lodge 639 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two children, Gregory Allen Shambo of Greenview, Ill., Tia Shay Isaacs-Barks of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Miles Gregory Shambo, Mia Brittany Shambo-Fagan, Tab Robert Barks II; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Wesley and Addison Grace Fagan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Rev. Greg Shambo led a private service Aug. 13, 2013, at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
