Robert Dean "Bob" Hutchings, 70, of Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 24, 1947, in Fredericktown, Missouri, to Robert B. and Frances Dollinger Hutchings. He and Patricia "Pat" Altenthal were married June 23, 1973...

Robert Dean "Bob" Hutchings, 70, of Jackson passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 24, 1947, in Fredericktown, Missouri, to Robert B. and Frances Dollinger Hutchings. He and Patricia "Pat" Altenthal were married June 23, 1973.

Robert was a truck driver many years for Elfrink Trucking Company. He later worked as a business agent for Teamsters Union Local 574 in Cape Girardeau and was elected secretary/treasurer of Teamsters Union Local 600 in St. Louis. He retired in 2009. Robert enjoyed vintage cars, woodworking and working in his garage.

Loving survivors include his wife, Pat Hutchings of Jackson; a daughter, Jean Ann (Mark) Miller of Park Hills, Missouri; a son, Robert "Bo" (Melanie) Hutchings of Jackson; a stepson, Steven (Patti) Holland of Jackson; three grandchildren, Melissa, Korey and Logan; three great-grandchildren, Ameliah, Korbyn and Paityn; and a sister, Nancy Hutchings of Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Hutchings.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Harth officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
