ROBERT HEUER

Robert W. Heuer, 82, of Rockford, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Northwoods Healthcare Center in Belvidere, Ill. He was born June 12, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, son of August and Lena A. Meyer Heuer. He and Virginia L. Mehrle were married Sept. 22, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 19, 2000...

Robert W. Heuer, 82, of Rockford, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at Northwoods Healthcare Center in Belvidere, Ill.

He was born June 12, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, son of August and Lena A. Meyer Heuer. He and Virginia L. Mehrle were married Sept. 22, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 19, 2000.

Heuer had lived in Rockford since 1951. He was employed by National Lock Co. 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Brian Heuer of Rockford; a daughter, Kelli Preston of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, George Heuer of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Erma Huffman of Ballwin, Mo.; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

Graveside service will follow immediately at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Jimmy Corbin will officiate.
