Robert John Grable, 77, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1939, in St. Louis to Harold Everett and Elnora (Thomas) Grable.

Robert was a 1957 graduate of Normandy High School in Normandy, Missouri.

He worked for Emerson Electric Company, McDonnell Douglas, Schnucks as a production manager and most recently, Pip Printing in Cape Girardeau.

Robert was a charter member of the Artist Cooperative through the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri. He was very talented in acrylic, watercolor, pastels, ceramic and digital art. He also loved gardening and cooking.

Survivors include his partner of 44 years, Robert McCool of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Paula Promnitz (fiance, Bob Jones) of Saint Louis; three grandchildren, Michael Bantle, Jaimie Promnitz and Stephanie Promnitz, and three great-grandchildren, Cayden Groth, Nolan Menke and Micah Holloway.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Donald Grable, and sister, Jane Ownby.

A celebration of life visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
