ADVANCE, Mo. -- Robert Neeley Ford, 92, of Advance passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at his home. He was born April 28, 1918, at Oak Ridge, son of Robert and Maude Murphy Ford. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. After being in the service he bought Ford's Grocery Store in Dongola, Mo., from his father. ADVANCE, Mo. -- Robert Neeley Ford, 92, of Advance passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at his home.

He was born April 28, 1918, at Oak Ridge, son of Robert and Maude Murphy Ford.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II.

After being in the service he bought Ford's Grocery Store in Dongola, Mo., from his father. From 1964 to 1998 he was an over-the-road truck driver.

Robert and Clara Marie Green were married Sept. 25, 1939, at Jackson. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Ford of Dongola, Bobby Ford of Advance; a daughter, Barbara Coffee of Advance; two sisters, Betty Garner of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Virginia Bollinger of Naples, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the chapel, with the Revs. Dan Overton and Harold Sitz officiating. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery.
