Robert Fred Hoffman, 68, of Bartow, Fla., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1993, at Bartow Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1925, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Earl and Marcella Meyer Hoffman. He and Mabel Mae Fornkohl were married Feb. 16, 1944, in Blytheville, Ark. She died in 1976.
Hoffman was a captain on a private boat. He was a cadet flight instructor at Harris Field in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Robert Hoffman Jr., a daughter, Linda Wilcox, both of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard Tragasz will officiate, with burial in Thompson Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
