JONESBORO, Ill. -- Funeral for Robert C. Elkins of Jonesboro will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Galbraith will officiate. Burial will be in Caster Cemetery, with military rites by Anna VFW Post 3455.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Elkins, 69, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born Sept. 10, 1929, in Union County, son of Benjamin and Pearl Gurley Elkins. He and Geneva Tucker were married April 7, 1950, in Union County.
Elkins worked 46 years at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Anna. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sheryl Netherton of Champaign, Cathy Freeman of Anna; two brothers, Wallace and Truman Elkins, both of Granite City; and a sister, Wanda Tucker of Xenia, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
