FREDERICKTOWN -- Robert E. "Bob" Green, 78, of Fredericktown, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 1996, at his home.
He was born June 24, 1917, in Mound City, Kan., son of Clarence and Lilly Green. He and Daphine Kinder were married Oct. 3, 1940, at Fredericktown.
Green owned and operated a hatchery and feed business more than 20 years. He had been associated with New Era Bank since 1959, and had served on the board of directors, was appointed executive vice president, and later served as president. He was still affiliated with the bank.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He served as the first commander of the local Missouri National Guard Unit in the late 1940s. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Green had also raised and shown quarter horses, and raised and trained bird dogs.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Green of Farmington; two daughters, Marilyn Nicholson of Chesterfield, Susie Laut of Farmington; two brothers, Edgar Green of Licking, Raymond Green of Rolla; a sister, Marilyn Birkhead of Topeka, Kan., and nine grandchildren.
Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Marcus Memorial Park.
