Robert M. Chisum, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Chateau Girardeau Health Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 7, 1917, in Jackson, Tenn., to John W. and Lura Porter Chisum.

Robert attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He and Betty Jane Berry were married July 12, 1946, at Cape Girardeau. She died July 17, 2010.

He was a veteran World War II, serving in the Army. He served in the European campaign.

Mr. Chisum was a manager for Kansas Life Insurance Co. in Lincoln, Neb., Kansas City, Mo. and Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Randol of Jackson, Mo., and Barbara (Don) Seabaugh of Overland Park, Kan.; two grandchildren, Kristen Randol and her fiance Albert De La Garza of Lawton, Okla., and Sara Seabaugh and her husband Andrew Kelly of Overland Park; a great-grandchild, Jackson Seabaugh Kelly; a niece, Janice (Robert) Shirley of Cape Girardeau; and two nephews, John (Nola) Chisum of Bourbonnais, Ill., and William L. (Roberta) Berry of Estes Park, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother and son-in-law, Ronald J. Randol.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau with full military honors by the Missouri Honors Team.
