Robert H. Buehrle Jr., 87, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1914, in St. Louis, son of Robert H. and Caroline Douglas Buehrle Sr. He and Julia Bernice Cutright were married May 6, 1939. Mr. Buehrle was a sales representative for Sunshine Biscuit Co. 39 years. He was a member of old St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church from 1940-58. Robert H. Buehrle Jr., 87, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1914, in St. Louis, son of Robert H. and Caroline Douglas Buehrle Sr. He and Julia Bernice Cutright were married May 6, 1939.

Mr. Buehrle was a sales representative for Sunshine Biscuit Co. 39 years. He was a member of old St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church from 1940-58. He then was a member of St. Mary of the Annunciation Cathedral Church from 1958 until his death.

He was a founding member of the Legion of Mary in the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese, and current president of the Curia. He was also an acting board member of the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Cape Girardeau.

Mr. Buehrle was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 11205. He was an active member and captain of the White House Retreat League 57 years, member of St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary, and was a commentator and broadcaster for the Sunday mass on radio.

He is survived by his wife; 12 children, Robert H. III of Chesterfield, Mo., Michael of Easthampton, Mass., Julia of St. Charles, Mo., Rose Lingle of East Cape Girardeau, Ill., Thomas of Hopkinsville, Ky., Anne of El Cajon, Calif., Patrick of Ballwin, Mo., Gregory of Converse, Texas, Anthony of Cape Girardeau, Vincent of Edwardsville, Ill., Monica of Lakewood, Colo., Caroline Weber of St. Charles; two brothers, James and Joseph of St. Charles; 31 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Buehrle; nine brothers, and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2001, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home, 118 S. Sprigg. Parish prayers will be at 7, with Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2001, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Cathedral. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Cape Girardeau.
