CHARLESTON -- Memorial service for Robert Wyman Beasley of Satellite Beach, Fla., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Charleston. The Rev. Rick White will officiate.
McMikle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Beasley, 89, formerly of Charleston, died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at his home.
He was born May 23, 1909, in Dublin, Ky. He married Pauline Downs, who died Dec. 15, 1996.
Beasley worked with Missouri Highway Department several years, and then was self-employed as an engineer and contractor.
He served as mayor of Charleston, served on the school board, and was still a member of the board of directors at First Security State Bank. He was appointed an honorary Missouri Colonel.
Beasley was a member of Satellite Beach United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty McGothlin of Satellite Beach, Paula Thompson of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
