THEBES, Ill. -- Robert R. Beasley, 92, of Thebes died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at his home.

He was born April 9, 1917, in Chestnut Mound, Tenn., son of Ben and Lillie Mae Autry Beasley.

Mr. Beasley was a member of First Baptist Church in Thebes, and was retired from the railroad.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Eunice Moore Beasley of Thebes; a brother, Willis C. Beasley of Sparta, Ill.; two sisters, Lonie Todd of Sparta, Mary Busicker of Toledo, Ohio; three granddaughters, Rena Lenand, Lisa Muller, Lorna Middleton; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Robert and William "Bill" Beasley.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Bridges officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, with full military honors provided by Illinois Army National Guard Honors Detail and local veterans.
