JACKSON -- Funeral service for Robert B. Hutchings of Jackson will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at Fredericktown, with the Rev. Joseph Gosche officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.
Hutchings, 65, died Wednesday, July 22, 1992, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1927, at Flat River, son of Harry P. and Frieda LaPlant Hutchings. He and Frances Dollinger were married April 29, 1945, at Fredericktown.
While living in Fredericktown, he was a truck driver. The family moved to Cape Girardeau in 1964, where he worked for Teamsters Local 574. He retired in 1979 as secretary/treasurer of the local.
The family moved to Millersville in 1970, to Louisiana in 1979, and then to Jackson in 1984. He was a member of Excelsior Masonic Lodge in Jackson, and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert D. Hutchings of Jackson, Harold Hutchings of East Prairie; a daughter, Nancy Van De Weghe of Jackson; two sisters, Dee Sellards of Sonoma, Calif., Linda Cavanaugh of Texas; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
