CLARKTON, Mo. -- Robert Owen Allen, 83, of Clarkton died Friday, Aug. 17, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare South in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born on April 22, 1918, at Hickman, Ky., son of Thomas and Mamie Wells Allen.

He was a past member of the Clarkton City Council, and the city's police department and housing authority board. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarkton.

He was retired from Gideon Anderson Wood Box plant in Gideon, Mo.

He and Myrtle Alice Nelson were married Oct. 21, 1937, at New Madrid, Mo. She died Oct. 12, 1974. He and Faye Rackley were married Oct. 22, 1976, at Kennett, Mo. She died May 23, 1985. He and Mary Ann Pratt Goodman were married Feb. 14, 1987, at Clarkton.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bobby Allen of Cape Girardeau and Larry Allen of Clarkton; three daughters, Mamie Johnson of Gideon, Mo., Sharon Sills of Malden, Mo., and Bonnie Foley of Versailles, Ky.; four stepsons, Mike Goodman of Columbus, Ga., Ted Pratt of Kokomo, Ind., David Rackley of Clarkton and Ricky Rackley of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four stepdaughters, Renae Houston of Steele, Mo., Cindy McCoin of Clarkton, Leticia Ladymon of Union, Mo., and Vicki Trueblood of Blytheville, Ark.; 36 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, with the Revs. Richard Blagg and Steve Brecker officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
