Willard N. "Rob" Robinson, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Taylorville, Ill., son of W.A. and Jean Small Robinson. He married Hattie Lee Miller Feb. 17, 1946. She preceded him in death March 16, 2001.
Loving survivors include a sister-in-law, Dorothy Miller of College Station, Texas; two nieces, Martha Daniels of Lubbock, Texas, Barbara Scholl of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a nephew, Dr. Richard R. Miller of Sunriver, Ore.
Mr. Robinson was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy from September 1940 until he retired in April 1960. He was stationed aboard the USS California docked at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japan.
After the service Willard worked for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. After he and Hattie retired from the Department of Defense, they moved to Florida and then to Cape Girardeau in 1990.
There will be no service. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
