MOREHOUSE -- R.L. "Sonny" Saulter, 80, of Morehouse died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
He was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Commerce, Texas, son of James Perry and Lillie Mae Ellenburg Saulter. He and Hazel L. Brink were married Feb. 25, 1939, in Charleston. She died Jan. 21, 1994.
Saulter worked more than 25 years at Bob Ralph Distributing Co., and from 1973-80 was a security guard with the Pinkerton Agency at Noranda Aluminum. He was a member of Morehouse General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, James Saulter of Sikeston, Gene Cagle of Cape Girardeau; seven sisters, Varna Cagle of Kewanee, Verna Lyons and Vera Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah, Verda Tinsley of Charleston, Holly Causey of Hudson, Fla., Jeanne Dixon of St. George, Utah, and June Eastwood of Sikeston.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Randy Thomas and Tom McCanless officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
