ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Carmelita J. "Rita" Lichtenegger, 71, of Altenburg died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her home.
She was born April 23, 1947, in Wittenberg, Missouri, daughter of Leonard and Leona Riske Hoehne. She and Edward Lichtenegger were married May 29, 1965. He survives in Altenburg.
Rita was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.
Survivors include a daughter and three sons, Laura (Willie) Kester of Friedheim, David (Deborah) Lichtenegger of Frohna, Missouri, Daniel (Sarah) Lichtenegger of Marquand, Missouri, and Andrew (Cara) Lichtenegger of Altenburg; a brother, Donald Hoehne of Brazeau, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Ethan Kester, Monica (Blake) Moore, Nathan Lichtenegger, Adam Lichtenegger, Abby Lichtenegger, Amalia Lichtenegger, Rachel Lichtenegger, Linna Lichtenegger, Ryan Lichtenegger, Samuel Lichtenegger, Elissa Lichtenegger and Megan Lichtenegger; two great-grandchildren, Ali Moore and Gannon Moore; and a stepgreat-granddaughter, Audrey Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Patricia Grebing-Kight.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel.
Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg or Saxony Lutheran High School or Treasures.
